2022 Governance Institute

When it comes to university governance, the partnership between a president and their board of trustees is critical now more than ever before. This three-day summer program provides an opportunity for CCCU presidents and their board chairs to learn together alongside peers from a number of other CCCU institutions about best practices in governance specifically for Christian colleges and universities. The program allows the president and board chair to learn good governance principles, to understand the unique yet complementary roles each plays in the continued health of their home campuses, to deepen their personal relationship so they can work together well, and to develop specific ideas for follow-up when they return to their home campuses. The program will include guest experts on legal affairs, board governance, and leadership, as well as senior academic leaders. There will be times for exploring the implications of the material both within your own institutional team and with peers from other institutions.
